The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) is one of the best-kept open secrets among Singapore SMEs. Administered by Enterprise Singapore, it covers up to 50% of qualifying IT solutions — and thousands of eligible businesses don't apply every year because the process looks more complicated than it actually is.
TL;DR: A plain-English guide to the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) for Singapore SMEs — what it covers, which digital solutions qualify, and a step-by-step walkthrough of the application process.
I've walked many clients through PSG applications over the years. The whole thing typically takes about an hour of your time to submit, and the grant pays for itself many times over. Let me break it down.
What Is the PSG Grant?
The PSG supports Singapore SMEs in adopting pre-approved IT solutions and equipment that improve productivity. Think accounting software, CRM systems, point-of-sale solutions, e-commerce platforms, HR tools, cybersecurity packages.
It currently covers up to 50% of qualifying costs, with a cap that varies by solution category. You pay the remaining 50%, and the vendor handles most of the implementation.
If you've been putting off getting a proper inventory system or customer management tool because of budget, PSG is worth a serious look.
Who Qualifies?
- Registered and operating in Singapore
- At least 30% local shareholding (Citizens or PRs)
- Annual revenue no more than S$100 million, OR no more than 200 employees
- The solution must be used in Singapore
Most SMEs qualify without issue. If you're unsure, the GoBusiness portal has an eligibility checker.
One important detail: you must purchase from a pre-approved vendor on the GoBusiness Solutions list. You can't buy any software you want and claim PSG — it has to be from a vendor that EnterpriseSG has vetted and approved.
What Solutions Qualify?
The list is extensive and updated regularly. As of 2026:
Accounting and Finance — Cloud accounting (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB), invoicing, GST filing.
HR and Payroll — Payroll software with CPF integration, leave management, onboarding platforms.
Customer Management — CRM systems, e-commerce platforms, booking and scheduling tools.
Operations and Inventory — Inventory management, POS systems, supply chain tools.
Cybersecurity — Endpoint security, threat management, security training.
Retail and F&B — Queue management, table and reservation management, self-ordering kiosks.
Professional Services — Document management, project management, digital marketing.
Browse the full list at the GoBusiness Solutions Finder.
How Much Can You Get?
PSG covers up to 50%. In practice:
- Accounting software at S$1,200/year: PSG covers S$600, you pay S$600.
- CRM at S$3,000 (implementation + first year): PSG covers S$1,500, you pay S$1,500.
- Cybersecurity package at S$5,000: PSG covers S$2,500, you pay S$2,500.
The grant mechanics vary slightly by vendor — some handle the claim directly, others provide a Letter of Offer you use at payment. Your chosen vendor will guide you through their specific process.
Step-by-Step: How to Apply
Step 1 — Identify What You Need
Before anything else, decide what business problem you're solving. Spending too much time on manual invoicing? Need a better way to manage customers? No proper payroll system?
Then go to the GoBusiness Solutions Finder and search for pre-approved solutions in that category. Compare 2-3 options and talk to their sales teams.
Step 2 — Get a Vendor Quotation
Ask your chosen vendor for a formal quotation. This is a required document for your application. Make sure it clearly states the solution name, cost breakdown, and the PSG pre-approval reference number.
Step 3 — Log In to the Business Grants Portal
All applications go through the BGP. You need Corppass credentials. If your company doesn't have Corppass yet, set it up first at Corppass.gov.sg — it takes a few business days.
Step 4 — Submit Your Application
Fill in company details, describe the solution and why it will improve your productivity (keep this to 2-3 clear sentences), include the vendor's reference number, and upload the quotation.
Most applications take 20-30 minutes if your documents are ready. The most common delay: not having the quotation in the right format.
Step 5 — Wait for the Letter of Offer
EnterpriseSG typically takes 4-6 weeks. Do not purchase the solution or make any payments before receiving the Letter of Offer. Costs incurred before approval are not eligible. I really can't emphasise this enough — we've seen it trip up multiple clients.
Step 6 — Accept and Purchase
Once you have the Letter of Offer, accept it through BGP, then proceed with the vendor.
Step 7 — Submit Your Claim
After the solution is implemented, submit your claim with invoices, proof of payment, and evidence the solution is live. Grant disbursement typically takes 4-6 weeks to your bank account.
Common Mistakes That Cause Delays
Buying before approval. The most frequent issue. You must have a Letter of Offer first.
Using non-approved vendors. Even if the software is similar, you must use a vendor on the official list.
Incomplete quotations. Missing the PSG reference number or unclear cost breakdown. Ask your vendor to review before you submit.
Incorrect Corppass access. The person submitting needs the right access level. Check this before you start.
Not claiming within the deadline. The Letter of Offer has an expiry date, typically 6-12 months.
Stacking PSG with Other Grants
IMDA SMEs Go Digital: Provides sector-specific digital roadmaps. Some solutions are also PSG-claimable.
SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC): Separate S$10,000 credit for training staff on new digital tools.
EDG: For larger transformation projects. Covers up to 50% and complements PSG for companies doing a bigger digital overhaul.
Check the GoBusiness Grants Finder for all available grants.
Getting Help
The PSG process is manageable once you understand the flow. The two parts that trip people up: choosing the right solution from the approved list, and making sure it actually solves the right business problem (rather than just being the cheapest option).
