If you run a small business in Singapore, government grants for digitalisation are one of the best-kept open secrets around. The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), administered by Enterprise Singapore, covers up to 50% of the cost of qualifying IT solutions and equipment — and thousands of Singapore SMEs leave this money on the table every year simply because the application process looks complicated.

It is not that complicated. This guide breaks it down into plain English so you know exactly what qualifies, what to expect, and how to submit your application without getting lost in government jargon.

What Is the PSG Grant?

The Productivity Solutions Grant supports Singapore SMEs in adopting pre-approved IT solutions and equipment that improve productivity. Think accounting software, CRM systems, point-of-sale solutions, e-commerce platforms, HR management tools, and cybersecurity packages.

The grant currently covers up to 50% of qualifying costs, with a cap that varies by solution category. You pay the remaining 50%, and the vendor handles most of the paperwork.

It is specifically designed for businesses that want to digitalise but find the upfront cost a barrier. If you have been putting off getting a proper inventory system or a customer management tool because of budget, PSG is worth looking into.

Who Qualifies?

To apply for the PSG, your business must meet all of the following:

  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% local shareholding (Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents)
  • Annual revenue of no more than S$100 million, OR employment size of no more than 200 employees
  • The IT solution or equipment must be used in Singapore

Most SMEs qualify without issue. If you are unsure, the GoBusiness portal has an eligibility check tool.

One important note: you must purchase the solution from a pre-approved vendor on the GoBusiness Solutions list. You cannot buy any software you like and claim PSG for it — it has to be from a vendor that EnterpriseSG has already vetted and approved.

The list of pre-approved solutions is extensive and updated regularly. As of 2026, eligible categories include:

How Much Can You Get?

The PSG covers up to 50% of qualifying costs. Here is what that looks like in practice:

Example 1 — Accounting software

  • Solution cost: S$1,200/year
  • PSG covers: S$600
  • You pay: S$600

Example 2 — CRM platform

  • Solution cost: S$3,000 (one-time implementation + first year)
  • PSG covers: S$1,500
  • You pay: S$1,500

Example 3 — Cybersecurity package

  • Solution cost: S$5,000
  • PSG covers: S$2,500
  • You pay: S$2,500

Keep in mind: the grant is not paid to you directly. The vendor invoices you for the subsidised amount, and EnterpriseSG reimburses the vendor directly (or provides a Letter of Offer you use at payment). The mechanics vary slightly by vendor, which brings us to the application process.

Step-by-Step: How to Apply for PSG

Step 1 — Identify the Solution You Need

Before anything else, decide what business problem you are solving. Are you spending too much time on manual invoicing? Do you need a better way to manage customer relationships? Do you have no proper payroll system?

Once you know the problem, go to the GoBusiness Solutions Finder and search for pre-approved solutions in that category. Compare 2-3 options and speak to their sales teams — most offer free demos.

Step 2 — Get a Quotation from the Vendor

Once you have chosen a solution, ask the vendor for a formal quotation. This quotation is a required document for your PSG application. The vendor should be familiar with the PSG process and can usually guide you on what format the quotation needs to take.

Make sure the quotation clearly states:

  • The name of the solution
  • The cost breakdown (one-time vs subscription)
  • The PSG pre-approval reference number (the vendor will provide this)

Step 3 — Log in to the Business Grants Portal

All PSG applications are submitted through the Business Grants Portal (BGP). You will need to log in using your Corppass credentials.

If your company does not have a Corppass account yet, set one up first through Corppass.gov.sg. It takes a few business days to be approved, so do this early.

Step 4 — Submit Your Application

Inside the BGP, navigate to the PSG application form. You will need to fill in:

  • Company details (UEN, business type, revenue, headcount)
  • Description of the solution you are applying for
  • How the solution will improve your business productivity (keep this to 2-3 clear sentences)
  • The vendor's pre-approval reference number
  • Upload the quotation from Step 2

Most applications take 20-30 minutes to fill in if you have your documents ready. The most common delay is not having the right quotation format — ask your vendor to double-check before you submit.

Step 5 — Wait for the Letter of Offer

EnterpriseSG reviews applications and typically issues a Letter of Offer within 4-6 weeks. This letter confirms your grant approval and the amount you will receive.

Do not purchase the solution or make any payments before receiving the Letter of Offer. Costs incurred before approval are not eligible for PSG reimbursement.

Step 6 — Accept the Offer and Purchase

Once you receive the Letter of Offer, review and accept it through the BGP. You can then proceed to purchase the solution from your vendor. The vendor will provide invoices and proof of payment, which you will need for the final claim step.

Step 7 — Submit Your Claim

After purchasing and deploying the solution, submit your claim through the BGP with:

  • Invoice(s) from the vendor
  • Proof of payment (bank transfer confirmation or receipt)
  • Screenshot or evidence that the solution is live and in use

EnterpriseSG reviews the claim and disburses the grant within 4-6 weeks. The payment goes directly to your company's bank account.

Common Mistakes That Cause Delays

Buying before approval. This is the most frequent issue. You must have a Letter of Offer before you pay the vendor. No exceptions.

Using non-pre-approved vendors. Even if the software is similar to a pre-approved solution, you must use a vendor on the official list. Check the GoBusiness Solutions Finder before committing.

Incomplete quotations. Missing the PSG reference number or not having a clear cost breakdown are common reasons for application rejections. Ask your vendor to review the quotation before you submit.

Incorrect Corppass access. The person submitting the application must have the right Corppass access level for your company. Check this before you start — fixing access issues can take a week.

Not claiming within the deadline. The Letter of Offer has an expiry date. Once you accept, you must purchase and submit your claim before the deadline stated in the offer. Typically this is 6-12 months.

Stacking PSG with Other Grants

PSG can be used alongside other government support schemes. Some combinations worth knowing:

IMDA SMEs Go Digital Programme: Provides sector-specific digital roadmaps and industry-specific pre-approved solution packages. Some solutions under SMEs Go Digital are also PSG-claimable.

SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC): A separate S$10,000 credit for eligible employers to upskill their workforce. Can be used for training staff on new digital tools your team adopts via PSG.

Enterprise Development Grant (EDG): For larger transformation projects — strategy consulting, process redesign, brand development. Covers up to 50% of qualifying costs and complements PSG for companies undergoing a bigger digital overhaul.

Check the GoBusiness Grants Finder to see all grants you may be eligible for.

Getting Help with the Application

The PSG process is manageable for most business owners once you understand the flow. That said, two parts trip people up: choosing the right solution from the approved list, and making sure the solution actually solves the right business problem (rather than just being the cheapest option on the list).

Adaptels works with Singapore SMEs on digital transformation projects and can help you map your business needs to the right PSG-eligible solutions. If you want a second opinion before committing to a vendor or need help with implementation, feel free to reach out.
